Taylor J. Mitchell is a Salonean-American with deep roots in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Born and raised in Montgomery, AL, she also spent her formative years in Columbus, OH—proof that she’s truly been everywhere!
Barrymore-nominated and brimming with talent, Taylor fell in love with performing at a young age, discovering that her height was perfect for more than just sports. After earning a BA in Theatre from Alabama State University, she made her way to Philadelphia, where she has thrived as a multi-hyphenate artist.
With a mission to amplify awareness and representation for Black and Brown communities, through her craft, Taylor founded Dream Big, Dream Black, a youth theatre organization dedicated to providing accessibility and comprehensive theatre education to young black artists.
Beyond the stage, she’s an avid traveler who has explored six continents, with Antarctica next on her list.
Taylor also shares her journey to wellness through her podcast, Tay Talk, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
